2015 Suburban adaptive cruise control issues

The adaptive cruise control on my 2105 Chevy Suburban started acting up several weeks ago.

The error messages include “front radar blocked” (clean front fascia, no mud in front of unit and and a clean windshield), “adaptive cruise control disengage” (occurs for no obvious reason), and “automatic collision prep unavailable” (again for no reason). At times it works fine and at other times I get no warning or braking when a vehicle slows in front of me. And worst of all, while on the way home from a trip to Upstate New York back to Detroit last Sunday, the brakes were applied four or five times automatically when I approach large flatbed and semi-trucks from behind, but two lanes to the right of me! This is a very danger situation when going seventy miles an hour. After these messages I can often re-engage the cruise control in a matter of five or ten minutes and it will work for a while and another error message will pop up. It happens at all three distance settings. GM Customer service and OnStar folks had no clue as I called them while on the road. There is no regular cruise control option when the vehicle has adaptive cruise control. I understand this was a problem with 2014 Chevy Impalas.

The truck is now at the dealer for diagnosis.
